Intersections
Another summoning
to pray on paper
The easy ink flow
a tithe to divine nature
Another call goes out
or perhaps it's all the same call
that never stops
My better angels find me here
at another dawn
filtering forces best not fought
Few flowers still stand up
to wintry fall
No birds singing except
in the south
Somber skies, skeletal trees
Ghost energies I can't
quite cast out
Should I befriend the phenomena
Am I certain I'm entirely unhexed
What breaks through to haunt
this bender I'm on
Bloodless be the banishment
Unpoisoned if at all possible
Sent away without scent of sage
Warded off without
wounding their ectoplasm
Translocated to someplace
wraiths can be safe
A deer walks right up
to my doorstep
Another summoning
by some soundless signal
Looks at me for a long time
through the window
like it knows something
I don't know
Share the secret, I beseech
Sacred soul, communicate your piece
Do you see
someone else but me
What's the origin
of the entity
Oh choir coalesce around me
Divinity defend
intersections irrevocably
opened in me
My perimeter needs
securing again
“Few flowers still stand up to wintry fall. No birds singing except
in the south”
Love this imagery. It evokes Frost.
